Don’t put boiling water into a wallpaper steamer.
What is a self-cleaning oven? A self-cleaning oven is a feature on many modern ovens that burns off cooking spills and splatters with an extremely high temperature (932 F or 500 C) to aid in cleaning.
Half fill a large, oven-safe bowl or pot with water and half a cup of vinegar. Begin the oven steam cleaning process. Place the pot in your oven and leave for between 20 and 60 minutes, allowing the steam to loosen grease and dirt from the oven walls, floor and ceiling. Turn off your oven.
If your steamer has a hose attachment, you should clean that, too. Simply detach the hose and flush it with water. You can do this outside with a garden hose, or carefully in the kitchen sink or shower. Flush the hose several times, or until the water runs clear once it filters out of the hose attachment.
In a spray bottle or bucket, mix two cups water to one cup distilled white vinegar (available at any grocery store). Use a sponge or cloth to clean over the steam table, focusing especially on areas that come into contact with food dropping, to disinfect any bacteria that could potentially grow.
If you don’t have any lemons on hand, distilled white vinegar also works wonders too. Simply add 2 Tbsp to the steamer basin. Again, boil on High for 10 minutes. Wash and rinse well.

With regular use, your garment steamer should be descaled every 2 weeks. Fill the water tank and plug in the steamer near a sink. Point the steamer head into the sink. Press and hold the AUTO CLEAN button for 2 seconds.
