Where is Maytag made?
Your oven can have many fuses that are connected to certain components, this can help you narrow down what area of your oven is suffering a fault. It could be just one fuse that’s blown or an assortment of them. Of course, if it’s the fuse on the plug then replacing it will be simple and straightforward.
Both the Maytag oven F3 error code and F4 code indicate there is an issue with the temperature sensor so the cook mode on your oven will stop. Check the sensor to make sure it is closed and there are not issues with the wiring or connection first. If the temperature sensor is damaged or not working, replace it.
Look for “Control Lock” on the oven control console and then reset by typically holding the button(s) for 3 seconds.
Find the year and month code. Each Maytag serial number contains two letters. These represent the year and month of manufacturing. They should be the ninth and 10th characters of the serial number.
Check your electrical panel for a blown fuse or tripped breaker. Check if the digital display or heating light is still working. If you can see signs of the oven receiving power, then there is likely another reason why your oven will not turn on.
Maytag Range/Stove/Oven Fuse, Thermal Fuse & Breaker Thermal Fuse.
The codes all feature the “F#” format and range from “0” to “9.” The “F9” error appears when there is a malfunction with the oven door latch. The error is often a simple glitch that requires little maintenance to repair and get your oven operating normally again.
Make sure your oven is properly plugged into the correct type of outlet. Check your circuit box for blown fuses or tripped breakers. Test the wall outlet with a multimeter to make sure it’s providing power.
Door is locked when starting or using the oven Turn the power off at the circuit breaker or fuse box for one minute, then turn the power back on. Allow the oven to cool, approximately 30-90 minutes, move the latch arm to the left to unlock the door.
MAYTAG (Prior to Whirlpool) All serial numbers have 10 digits. The first two numbers are the production series number and the rest are the serial. number. The two letters at the end are the YEAR and the MONTH respectively.
Factors that cause longer preheat times: Avoid leaving the door open for an extended period of time. Newer range/ovens have larger oven cavity than past models which may take longer to preheat. A hidden bake element provides a buffered heat and will take longer to preheat than an exposed bake element.
Look for “Control Lock” on the oven control console, then reset by, typically, pushing & holding for 3 seconds.
Press and hold the Temp/Time – keypad for 5 seconds until the oven display shows the current setting, for example 0F CAL or 00. 2. Press the Temp/Time + or – keypad to increase or decrease the temperature in 5F (3C) amounts.
