Combination microwaves use microwave energy, much like a traditional microwave does, but combined with the added benefits of fanned hot air, making grilling, roasting and baking easier and quicker than before with convection hot air giving that perfect roasted finish.
If you have a microwave with the convection mode on, at that point 180 degrees, Celcius is the temperature at which you bake a cake. But in case if you don’t have a convection mode in your microwave at that point, you need to set the power at 100%, i.e. power level 10.
If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the thermoprotector may have tripped. This is a safety device to prevent the microwave from overheating. It can be tested for continuity to see if it’s blown.
If the microwave runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, the door switch might be defective or loose. Sometimes arching or overheating of door switches stops microwave from running efficiently. Some microwaves have a seal or gasket around the door. If the seal or gasket is broken, microwave shuts down.
Combi. A combi microwave also known as a combination microwave is exactly what it says, it provides a combination of cooking capabilities. These different cooking options can include features like grilling, steaming and baking, which is great if you love to cook and want everything in one appliance.
If the Microwave is overheating and shutting itself down, this is caused by high voltage parts inside the unit getting too hot the leading the thermal cut-out switch to be activated as a safe feature to prevent further overheating.
This high voltage powers the magnetron to heat the food. If the diode burns out, the magnetron won’t receive enough voltage to operate, preventing the microwave from heating. When the diode fails, it is often visibly burned out. Inspect the diode and if the diode is burned out, replace it.
