Hang an oven thermometer in the center of the middle rack and preheat the oven to 350F (176.67C). Allow the oven to preheat for at least 20 minutes and take a temperature reading. This will tell you if the oven is even reaching the desired temperature from the beginning.
If you find yourself with an oven that will not turn on, the first thing you should determine is if the oven is at fault or if perhaps a circuit breaker has been tripped. If the power supply to the oven is not responsible, the next thing to check is if the oven’s heating elements are at fault.
The model number can be found on a white or silver data badge on; open the main oven door; the badge is situated on the bottom edge of the appliance or in the base of the pan storage drawer (high level models).
If your ceramic hob won’t turn on it’s very likely that you have a faulty hob element. This is the part of your cooker that heats up your ceramic hob so if it becomes faulty it’s important that you replace it.
If the power goes out and you are using a range, oven, or cooktop, the clock will need to be set again when the power comes back on. It does not keep the settings in memory. If you were also cooking in the oven, it will need to be turned back on, and the temperature, cook time, etc. set again.
Your gas oven could be turning off because its ventilation system is blocked. Additionally, your gas ignitor could be damaged or failed to light, you could have a broken thermostat, or you may be low on gas.
When SHO or S is shown on the appliance display it means your oven is currently in showroom mode and no heating will be possible.
To activate /deactivate the key lock press and hold the plus button for approx 5 seconds. The keylock will disappear and the clock can be adjusted.
Both gas and electric ovens will cycle on and off throughout the cooking cycle to maintain the set temperature. When the oven temperature has dropped below the set temperature, the oven cycles on again to provide heat and will cycle off again once the temperature is higher than the set temperature.
