A convection microwave can perform all the functions of a solo microwave, but also has additional features. Convection microwaves can grill, bake, roast, brown and even crisp foods. If you rely on your microwave for more than just simple reheating, then the convection option is the one for you.
If your microwave has a dedicated defrost button, press it to begin defrosting your produce. If you don’t see a defrost button on your appliance, you can defrost produce by manually setting the microwave to 20 to 30 percent power using the Power Level button.
Auto Reheat is designed for reheating precooked foods. It operates off the auto-cook humidity sensor. The ideal cooking temperatures for “reheat” are 150-160 degrees F. These temperatures are required to kill bacteria that could be in the food.
Most Panasonic microwaves use this Auto/Sensor Cook setting method: Press [Auto Cook] until the number corresponding to the food Menu appears in the display Refer to your Operating Instructions for your models Auto/Sensor Cook Chart. Image varies by model. To select food weight press [Serving/Weight].
Is it safe to defrost food in the microwave? Yes. Using your microwave to defrost food is safe, but you must cook the food immediately after it’s done defrosting. If food is allowed to sit much longer than the appropriate defrost time of 8 to 10 minutes per pound, harmful bacteria could begin to grow.
Microwaves that don’t have inverter technology have to switch between using 100 per cent and 0 per cent power when you choose 50 per cent power, whereas a microwave with inverter technology uses 50 per cent power the entire time so your food is more evenly defrosted and cooked.
Genius cooking sensor measures the steam produced by what’s cooking to determine when it’s done. Theoretically it avoids undercooking or overcooking compared to cooking by time alone. I don’t know how well it works. Inverter technology is a technology which allows the microwave see more.
Preheat the microwave oven by selecting convection mode at 180*C. In a metal pan or magic tawa place the uncooked pizza base gently. Dock it with a fork. Now gently fold the edges this will help to hold the sauce and toppings.
Auto Cook takes the guesswork out of cooking non-recipe convenience foods. The sensor automatically sets and maintains the correct power levels and cooking times by sensing steam from the food as it cooks.
