Food experts generally do not recommend baking cakes in convection ovens. Cakes rise best with a steady heat; the heat movement adjusts the crumb of the cake and may cause it not to rise properly.
Small OTGs 20-28L comes under the small ovencategory. These ovens can only incorporate one tray at a time and the width of the oven is very small so you can only bake in a small 6inch cake pan and about 4 cookies at a time.
An OTG is best used for baking, toasting, and grilling. For example, you can bake cakes, grill meat, and toast bread with ease. A convection microwave can perform all of these functions and reheat, cook, and de-freeze, which the OTG cannot.
The Bajaj 1603 T 16 Litre OTG is one of the best OTG ovens. It allows you to cook food for 2-3 people.
Croma Oven Toaster Grill 30L OTG with Convection mode, Temperature Control, 60 mins timer, Motorized Rotisserie, 5 heating modes (1500W, CRAO0066, Silver)
A convection oven is more energy-efficient than an oven, toaster and griller (OTG). An OTG can grill, bake and toast but cannot be used to heat and defrost. A microwave oven is designed to cook food quickly by heating it from the inside rather than from the outside alone.
Functionality: In a convection microwave can cook, re-heat and also bake , grill and do just about everything in a convection microwave. Whereas in an OTG, you would be able to toast, grill and bake your food, but you would not be able to cook or re-heat your food in an OTG.
Step 1: Preheat OTG to 220C in Grill Mode. Line a baking tray with foil or parchment paper. Designed to take up the minimal space in the kitchen, the Bajaj OTG performs all your cooking functions with efficiency.
