Always use the turntable when cooking in the microwave (convection or microwave use).
The rack is ideal for giving you more space to heat up two or more containers at the same time. They attach to plastic or rubber clips on the sides of the oven, out of contact with other metal in the microwave that could cause it to become reactive.
Microwave burn or scorch marks are often caused by food or liquid that burns inside the cavity, or by nonmicrowavable material such as foil that has been heated inside the microwave. These materials can cause arcing inside a microwave unit, which will leave burn marks.
Steam Clean allows for quick cleaning of minor food spills at temperatures lower than the standard self-clean feature. Simply pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of a cool oven. Close the door and select Steam Clean. The cycle lasts about 30 minutes, and loosens and softens the grime in the oven.
Self-cleaning ovens use high heat to help burn any residue or soil left behind in the oven and turn them into ashes, while steam-cleaning ovens use water to soften stuck on food particles. High heat self-cleaning cycles are typically longer than steam-clean cycles, and require a locked oven door as a precaution.
Place a tablespoon or two of vinegar or a lemon (cut into slices or halves) in a small bowl of water. Place the bowl in the microwave and run it on high for three minutes, or until the water is boiling. Leave the door closed for five minutes to let the steam loosen the residue.
Take the microwave safe bowl or jug and add 500ml of water, followed by 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Place the bowl or jug into the microwave. Then microwave on full power for 5 minutes, you will notice the liquid beginning to boil. Once the 5 minutes is up, leave the microwave door closed for around 3 minutes.
White vinegar, lemon juice, or baking soda – any one of these natural solutions can help you maintain your coffee machine without the Miele descaling tablets. Mix 1/3 cup white vinegar with 2/3 cup water and run the descaling program.
The Steam Clean feature (found on select microwave models) generates steam to re-hydrate dried spills/splatters making cleaning easier. To use: Press the Steam Clean button. Put in steam bowl (if came with model) or a microwave safe bowl with 1/4 cup of water.
Unfortunately, Miele machines don’t have water filters, so you’ll need to descale the machine around once a month. For this you can use Miele descaling tablets which cost $20.25 for a pack of six.
